The 12 Best Things to Do in Merzouga

Merzouga is much more than a camel ride. If you have one or two days, here are the experiences we recommend most.

  1. Ride a camel at sunset – the classic. Sunset camel ride.
  2. Sleep in a desert camp – dinner, drums and stars. Our camp.
  3. Watch the sunrise from the top of a dune, in total silence.
  4. Drive a quad around the dunes. 2-hour quad tour.
  5. Share a buggy with your partner or children. 1-hour buggy.
  6. Ride a KTM enduro bike if you have experience. KTM ride.
  7. Slide down the dunes on a sandboard. Sandboarding.
  8. Visit a nomad family in the black desert. Morning with nomads.
  9. Listen to Gnawa music in the village of Khamlia. Gnawa music.
  10. Walk in the market of Rissani, the old caravan capital. 4×4 day to Rissani.
  11. Look at the stars with a local guide. Stargazing night.
  12. Have a private dinner on a dune for a special occasion. Private dinner.
