1-Hour Buggy Ride in Merzouga

1 hourErg ChebbiEasyPrivate

Side by side in a two-seat buggy, with seat belts and roll cage: one hour of fun in the dunes for couples and families.

The buggy is the friendliest way to drive in the Sahara. You sit in a proper seat with a seat belt and a steering wheel, protected by a roll cage, with your partner or child beside you. After a short explanation from the guide, we drive out into the dunes behind Merzouga.

The route follows smooth valleys and gentle slopes, with one or two bigger climbs if you feel like it, and a stop on a dune for photos of the two of you with Erg Chebbi behind. One hour is perfect for a first experience or to add to a day already full of camels and tea.

Questions

Do I need a driving licence for the buggy?

We ask the driver to have a car driving licence. The passenger does not need anything, just a sense of adventure.

Is the buggy good for families?

Yes. With seat belts and a roll cage it is the safest way to share the dunes with older children sitting next to a parent.

Is it difficult to drive on the dunes?

Not with a guide. He chooses the lines and shows you how to climb and descend. You simply follow his tracks at your own pace.
