1-Hour Quad Ride around Erg Chebbi
Your first taste of the dunes on an automatic quad: easy sand valleys, a small crest for the view and photos taken by your guide.
One hour is enough to understand why everyone smiles when they get off a quad in Merzouga. After a short briefing and a few minutes of practice on flat ground, we ride out of the village and into the first dunes of Erg Chebbi, where the sand is smooth and forgiving.
Your guide rides in front and chooses easy lines between the dunes, then takes you up a small crest from where you can see the big dunes rising to the south. We stop there for photos before a loop back across the edge of the black desert. Perfect for beginners, for a first ride before a camel trek or for families with teenagers.

Good to know
Wear closed shoes and long trousers. Rides leave at the time you choose; in summer we recommend sunrise or sunset.
No payment is needed to book: you pay on arrival in cash (dirhams or euros). Free changes if the weather is not good.
Questions
Do I need experience to ride a quad?
No. The quads are automatic and you get a briefing and a short practice on flat sand before entering the dunes.
Can children ride?
Drivers are usually 16 or older. Younger children can ride as passengers with an adult on a duo quad or in a buggy. We confirm the details when you book.
What should I wear?
Closed shoes, long trousers and sunglasses. We give you a helmet, goggles and a Berber scarf against the sand. In winter bring a warm layer for sunset.
What is the best time of day?
Morning and late afternoon, when the sand is cooler and the light is beautiful. In summer we ride only at sunrise and sunset.
