Sunset 4x4 Tour to the Dunes
A relaxed afternoon by 4x4 along Erg Chebbi, ending with mint tea on a dune while the sun sets over the Sahara.
Not everyone wants to ride a camel or drive a quad, and this tour is for them: the comfort of a 4x4 with the best views of the desert. We leave in the afternoon and drive around the dunes, stopping at the oasis of Merzouga, at the old kasbahs at the edge of the sand and at viewpoints over the black desert.
For the sunset we park at the foot of a high dune. You can climb it on foot with your driver or watch from below, while he prepares mint tea and the dunes change colour. We return in the evening, or continue to our camp if you are spending the night in the desert.

Good to know
Up to 6 people per 4x4. Bring cash if you want to buy fossils or crafts; the souk of Rissani is busiest on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.
No payment is needed to book: you pay on arrival in cash (dirhams or euros). Free changes if the weather is not good.

What will I see on a 4x4 tour?
The dunes from every side, a nomad family, the Gnawa village of Khamlia, the black desert, fossils, old mines and, after the rains, a lake with flamingos.
Can I combine it with the camp?
Yes. The afternoon 4x4 tour can end at our luxury camp, with a short camel ride for the sunset.
How many people fit in a 4x4?
Up to 6 passengers per vehicle. For bigger groups we add more cars, each with its own driver.
