Night in a Traditional Nomad Camp
A simple and authentic night in the dunes, the way the nomads have always lived: wool tents, mattresses on carpets, dinner by the fire and a sky full of stars.
Not everyone looks for luxury in the desert. Our nomad camp is for travellers who want the Sahara as it is: a few tents of goat and camel wool, thick mattresses on Berber carpets, a shared toilet tent and a fire in the middle. It is quieter, closer to the sand and a little more adventurous.
You arrive by camel at sunset, share a dinner of tajine and bread baked in the hot sand, and spend the evening by the fire listening to songs and stories of our families. The night is cool and the silence is complete. After the sunrise and breakfast, the caravan takes you back to Merzouga.
